The Kentucky men?s tennis team will begin play Friday at the South Florida Spring Invitational in Tampa, Fla. The Cats will be competing in their final tournament before beginning match play on Wed. at home at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center against Butler and Austin Peay.
The Cats are coming off a successful run at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships where three players reached the round of 16 in singles and two doubles teams reached the quarterfinals.
Seniors Alex Hume and Carey Rubin, as well as sophomore Marcus Sundh, each captured a pair of victories against SEC foes. The Cats also received a pair of doubles victories from the team of senior Nate Emge and Hume as well as the duo consisting of freshman Bruno Agostinelli and Sundh.
At the USF Spring Invitational the Wildcats will be going up against opponents from USF, Harvard and Florida A&M. Play begins Friday at noon EST with UK going up against players from South Florida. Fans can check ukathletics.com for complete recaps of the matches all weekend long.
