The Kentucky women?s basketball team looks to get back to its winning ways when it hits the road to face Ole Miss Sunday, Jan. 22. Tip-off in the C.M. ?Tad? Smith Coliseum is set for 3 p.m. EST and the game will be carried live on the Big Blue Sports Network (radio) with Neil Price.

Kentucky (13-4, 2-2 Southeastern Conference) has won four of its last five games and are coming off a tough home loss to Auburn on Thursday. UK shot just 29.9 percent from the field and was out-rebounded 44-33 for the first time in five games. Freshman point guard Carly Ormerod (Louisville, Ky.) led UK with 16 points and was the only Wildcat to reach double figures.

?We just have to regroup after our loss to Auburn,? UK Coach Mickie DeMoss said. ?We play Ole Miss on the road and we are going to have to work to get tougher between now and then.?

Sophomore guard Samantha Mahoney (Detroit) leads four Wildcats in double-figure scoring, averaging 11.6 points per game. Junior guard Jenny Pfeiffer (North Vernon, Ind.) has been a key reserve for Kentucky as she averages 11.2 ppg. Ormerod and sophomore center Sarah Elliott (McKee, Ky.) follow in the scoring column with 10.5 and 10.3 ppg, respectively. Senior forward/center Jennifer Humphrey (Memphis) is the squad?s leader on the boards, averaging 9.1 rebounds per game. She ranks third in the SEC in rebounding.

This is the 25th meeting between Ole Miss and Kentucky in the all-time series. The Lady Rebels lead the series 18-6, including a 9-2 advantage when playing in Oxford. Kentucky has won two of the last three meetings, including a 70-63 decision last season in Lexington. Ole Miss has won the last two meetings in Oxford, its last win coming in double overtime in 2004, 90-88.

Ole Miss, coming off a 66-58 loss to Florida at home on Thursday, enters the game with an 11-6 record and a 1-3 mark in league action. The Lady Rebels are led on the season by junior guard Arminte Price, who is averaging 16.7 ppg and 11.0 rpg. She is one of two players in the SEC averaging a double-double. Sophomore forward Danetra Forrest has collected three double-figure outings to open league play. She notched career highs in both points (19) and rebounds (14) against Florida.
