Beach, D. Davis will be Game Captains: Running back Arliss Beach and wide receiver Draak Davis have been named game captains for Saturday?s game against Mississippi State, Coach Rich Brooks has announced.
Game captains are usually selected based on their performance the previous week. Beach rushed 11 times for 73 yards and one touchdown in last Saturday?s game at Ole Miss. Davis was chosen for the third time this season in honor of his outstanding play on special teams. He returned a kickoff 26 yards against the Rebels and provided excellent kick coverage. Beach and Davis will join permanent captains Muhammad Abdullah and Tommy Cook for the opening coin toss.
Burton Sees Limited Practice Time: Wide receiver Keenan Burton, recovering from a broken foot, saw limited action in practice Tuesday morning at the Nutter Training Facility, Coach Rich Brooks announced.
Brooks said that Burton worked out for approximately one-third of the practice before his foot began getting sore. Burton sat out the remainder of practice. His availability for Saturday?s game vs. Mississippi State remains uncertain.
Auburn at Kentucky Set for 1 p.m.: The Auburn at Kentucky game on Sat. Nov. 5 has been set for a 1 p.m. EST kickoff at Commonwealth Stadium.
The game was not selected for live telecast by the television networks. The game will be televised on a delayed basis by the Big Blue Sports Network.
