Kentucky freshman Bruno Agostinelli won two matches Saturday to advance to the quarterfinals at the Region Three Indoor Championships in Memphis, Tenn.

Agostinelli beat both his opponents on the day in straight sets. In his first match, Agostinelli beat Philippe Frayssinoux of Mississippi State 6-1, 6-1. In his second match, Agostinelli picked up the 10 victory of his young career by beating the tournament?s No. 1 seed Greg Ouellette of Florida 6-4, 7-5.

Agostinelli is the only remaining Wildcat in the tournament after seniors Alex Hume and Nate Emge lost in the Round of 16 and the Round of 32 respectively.

Hume, the 68th-ranked player in the nation, beat Tennessee?s David Baxendine 7-5, 6-3, in his first match of the day. Hume?s tournament run then ended in his next match against Mississippi State?s Pierre Mouillon. Hume exited after losing a hard fought three set match 5-7, 6-0, 6-1.

The No. 94 ranked Emge lost to the tournament?s 5th-seeded player Chris Brandi of Florida 7-5, 6-1.
