The Kentucky men?s tennis team Friday lost its first two matches of the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational in Atlanta, Ga.
Senior Carey Rubin fell in three sets to Georgia Tech?s Jordan Delass 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (8).
Freshman Marcus Sundh also dropped his first match of the tournament. Sundh fell in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, to Vanderbilt?s Ryan Preston. Rubin and Sundh will head to the Consolation A bracket for the rest of the tournament.
Fellow freshman Kenny Hodge moved on to the second round of the Flight B singles main draw when his opening round opponent withdrew due to injury.
Due to rain, doubles action was postponed until tomorrow. Hodge and Sundh are scheduled to take on Evan Defaux and Andy Mack of Vanderbilt.
Sundh will begin the Wildcats’ Saturday at the Bill Moore Tennis Center at 8 a.m. Fans can check ukathletics.com for daily recaps throughout the tournament.
