The University of Kentucky men?s golf team slipped three spots into a tie for sixth place at the NCAA Preview in Sunriver, Ore., at Sunriver Resort’s Crosswater Course. Defending national champion Georgia continues to lead the 15-team field with a team score of 568 (-4).

The Wildcats posted a second-round team score of 292 to bring their two-day total to 583 (291-292), 15 strokes behind the Bulldogs. UK is tied for sixth along with New Mexico (296-287). Georgia Tech ranks second at 578 (294-284), followed by Oklahoma State (297-283) and August State (295-286). UNLV rounds out the top five with a total of 582 (290-292).

Freshman Andy Winings continues to lead the Cats. After firing a first-round best 69, Winings followed that performance with a two-over par 74 and is now tied for 12th overall. Tyler Wilson shot even par behind the strength of four birdies and is now tied for 24th in the individual standings with a total score of 147 (75-72). Dan Woltman and Brad Doster each finished at one-over par 73 in the second round. Woltman matched his first-round score and is now tied for 20th with a total of 146, while Doster ranks 39th with a two-round total of 150. Senior Matt Kohn rounds out the scoring for UK with a two-round total of 152 (74-78).

The three-day event wraps up Wednesday, Sept. 28, with the final 18 holes. The Cats will tee off beginning at 9:30 a.m.
