University of Kentucky senior Courtney McCrudden has been named the Southeastern Conference co-Offensive Player of the Week by the league office. McCrudden shares the honor with junior midfielder Ali Chrostoph of Tennessee.
McCrudden recorded two of the Wildcats three goals to open SEC play this weekend, including the game-winning goal against Arkansas with 24 seconds remaining. This was the first game-winning goal of her career. The Vorhees, N.J., native also scored the lone goal in UK?s eventual 1-1 tie to LSU in the SEC opener.
McCrudden now has a team-high four goals this season which is a new career-high for the senior forward. She also leads the team with five assists and 13 points on the year.
The Wildcats remain the SEC?s only undefeated team and currently own a 10-game unbeaten streak.
McCrudden and the rest of her Kentucky (5-0-5, 1-0-1 SEC) teammates return to action this weekend when they travel to take on Alabama and Auburn. The Cats will visit Alabama (6-2-1, 0-1-1 SEC) on Friday night at 8 p.m. EST, before a 3 p.m. EST contest on Sunday afternoon at Auburn (2-6-1, 1-1 SEC).
