The University of Kentucky men?s golf team opened its fall season today and is currently ninth after two rounds of play at the Inverness Intercollegiate Invitational in Toledo, Ohio. Southern California leads the 15-team field with a score of 581 (289-292).
Texas is in second place with a total of 591, followed by Coastal Carolina who posted a team score of 592. Florida is currently fourth at 593 and host-team Toledo wraps up the top five with a score of 595.
USC?s Joshua Wooding leads the individual standings with a two-round total of 141 (71-70).
The Wildcats stand 19 strokes behind the leader with a team score of 600 (298-302). UK was tied for fourth through the first round but slipped to ninth to wrap up the first day of play.
Freshman Andy Winings leads the Cats and is tied for ninth overall with a total score of 146 (75-71). Sophomore Brad Doster follows with a 148 (71-77) to tie for 16th, while Jordan Blann ranks 44th with a score of 153 (77-76). Dan Woltman shot a first-day 154 (75-79), followed by junior Tyler Wilson with a 158 (80-78) to round out the scoring for Kentucky.
The two-day tournament continues Tuesday, Sept. 20, with the third and final round set to begin at 8 a.m.
