Kentucky senior Nate Emge and freshman Bruno Agostinelli both won their first two matches of the season to continue to the second day of main draw action at the Middle Tennessee Fall Invitational at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Early on Friday, the 94th-ranked Emge swept Kiril Tcherveniachki, of Tennessee, in straight sets 6-1, 7-5. Later in the day, Emge advanced to the second day by defeating Louisville?s Slavko Radman by a count of 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.

Freshman Agostinelli captured his first collegiate victory by defeating Memphis? Matt Brewer 6-4, 6-2. In the second round, Agostinelli battled Fausto Rocha of Belmont, and overcame an opening set loss to take the match 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Senior Alex Hume lost in his opening match of the season against Middle Tennessee?s Kai Schledorn, falling 7-6 (3), 7-6 (6). Hume, the 68th-ranked player in the nation, will head to the consolation draw tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.

Agostinelli will return to main draw competition first on Saturday as he faces off against Auburn?s Nick Lane at 10 a.m.

Emge with continue play tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. against Erling Tveit of Ole Miss.
