The 2005-06 women?s basketball team participated in team photo day on Aug. 23.

The 13-member squad is highlighted by the return of three returning starters in sophomores Sarah Elliott, Chant? Bowman and Samantha Mahoney. They are joined by seniors Stephanie Stumbo and Jennifer Humphrey. For the second consecutive year, DeMoss has brought in one of the top recruiting classes in the country. Two Miss Basketball winners are members of the incoming Class of 2009, Carly Ormerod (Kentucky Miss Basketball) and LaQwesha ?Moe? Gamble (Florida Miss Basketball).

Kentucky concluded the 2004-05 season with an 18-16 record, its best finish since winning 21 games in 1998-99. The Cats reached the semifinals of the Sportsview.tv WNIT, its longest postseason run in school history.

Fans can get their first glimpse of the 2005-06 UK Hoops team on Friday, Oct. 14 at Big Blue Madness in Rupp Arena! This year?s festivities begin at 9 p.m., and will feature the unveiling of both the UK men?s and women?s 2005-06 basketball squads. Madness remains free to the public. Tickets for lower 8,000 level seats can be picked up at the Memorial Coliseum ticket windows at 7 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1st. Upper level seats will be distributed via TicketMaster beginning Oct. 6.
