The University of Kentucky volleyball team was named the Academic Team of the Year at the 2005 Catspy Awards, a first-time honor for the squad.

The Catspy Awards, now in its third year, recognizes athletes from all 22 varsity sports teams at Kentucky. This year, the volleyball squad had the highest team grade point average. The award is given by the Ohio Casualty Center for Academic and Tutorial Services. The volleyball team is overseen at C.A.T.S. by Beth Kidwell, an academic advisor.
