WALNUT, Calif. ? The University of Kentucky long distance squad competed in the Mt. SAC Relays distance carnival in Walnut, Calif., Friday. Senior Allison Grace, competing in the women?s 5,000-meter run for the first time this season, recorded a personal-best and regional qualifying time of 16:38.00. Kentucky sophomore Jackie Gordon recorded also tallied a personal-best 800-meter time of 2:12.60.

The distance squad recorded two season-best time to conclude the evening portion of the distance carnival. Freshman Stephan Smith crossed the finish line with a season-best time of 1:52.69 in the men?s 800-meter run, while sophomore Georganne Way also ran a season-best time in the women?s 800-meter run, capturing a time of 2:11.08.

Kentucky?s field events squad will begin competing at the Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. EDT.
