A 12-day layoff did little to stop No. 3 Kentucky, as the Cats dealt No. 41 LSU a 7-0 defeat Friday evening at UK?s Boone Indoor Tennis Center. UK (16-3) picks up its 10th-consecutive victory and earns its best-ever start (5-0) in conference play.

Kentucky started things off with its 11th sweep of doubles play in 19 matches. Sarah Foster and Aibika Kalsarieva scored an 8-2 win at the first singles slot, and Emily Foster and Lara Maurer fought off a Tiger rally to clinch the doubles point with an 8-6 win at third doubles. UK?s Kim Coventry and Joelle Schwenk completed the doubles sweep with a 9-7 at the second doubles position.

Schwenk extended the Wildcat lead to 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Tiffany Tucker at the fourth singles position. Kalsarieva picked up her 10th-consecutive win at No. 1 singles, defeating 99th-ranked Amanda Mang, 7-5, 6-2. Coventry provided the clinching point at second singles with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Staten Spencer.

UK?s Sarah Foster split her first two sets with LSU?s Marina Chiarelli before pulling out the final set, 6-3, to extend the Wildcat lead to 5-0. Maurer added a straight-set win over Camila Caliari, and Danielle Petrisko put the finishing touches on the win with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Anastasiya Dubova.

Kentucky returns to the courts Sunday against Arkansas. The match is set for 12 p.m. EST at the Boone Tennis Complex.
