The Kentucky men?s golf team fired a second-round score of 284 to jump five spots into a tie for sixth place at the Hall of Fame Invitational at Redstone Golf Club in Humble, Texas. The Wildcats are tied with Purdue with a two-day score of 583. Oklahoma State shot a 270 to move up three spots and lead the overall team standings with a two-day total of 562.

Oklahoma State (292-270) is followed by UNLV in second with a total of 563 (287-276), while Texas Christian (285-289) and New Mexico (292-282) are tied for third with totals of 574. Texas (298-282) holds fifth place with a total of 580, followed by the Cats (299-284) and the Boilermakers (301-282) who are knotted with a score of 583 to hold sixth place.

Senior John Holmes shot a three-under-par 69 on the second day of play to tie for 16th overall with an even par (144). Senior Mark Blakefield shot a two-under-par 70 to tie for 31st overall (76-70) with teammate Matt Kohn (73-73). Senior Matt Wells ranks 37th in the individual standings with a two-day score of 147 (75-72). Senior Brandon Waldrop wraps up the scoring for the Cats and is tied for 60th overall with a two-round total of 151 (77-74).

The third and final round begins Sunday, Mar. 20, with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
