PINEHURST, N.C.- The University of Kentucky women?s golf team finished 15th at the College of Charleston Edwin Watts/Pinehurst Challenge in Pinehurst, N.C. Washington State finished with a team score of 918 (303-301-314), 21 strokes below second place North Carolina Wilimington?s 939 (312-306-321). Kentucky concluded the tournament with a score of 972 (325-323-326).
UNCW?s Becky Berzonski tied for top individual medalist honors with teammate Michelle Jarman, both finished at eight-over-par for the 54 holes.
Freshman Beth Felts and senior Katie Dixon tied for 39th at twenty-six-over-par. Felts fired a 242 (80-80-82), while Dotson ended the tournament with a 242 (82-78-82). Freshman Elizabeth Dotson moved up three places in the rankings from day two to finish tied for 45th after recording a 243 (80-82-81). Junior Ali Kicklighter recorded her lowest round of the tournament finish with a score of 249 (85-83-81), while teammate Katie Johnson also ended with a three-day total of 249 (83-84-82), both finished tied for 64th.
The Cats next travel to Baton Rouge, La., for the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic Mar. 18-20.
