The University of Kentucky women?s basketball team (15-14, 4-10) received the No. 10 seed and will face No. 7 seed Auburn (15-12, 6-8 SEC) in the first round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament Thursday, March 3 in Greenville, S.C., at the Bi-Lo Center. Game time is slated for 3:15 p.m. ET and the game will be televised live on FSN South (SEC-TV).

Kentucky?s only meeting of the regular season against the Tigers came on Feb. 13 in Auburn, Ala. UK fell 65-50 as AU senior Natasha Brackett scored a game-high 20 points. Kentucky shot just 30.5 percent (18-of-59) from the field but outrebounded the Tigers 44-37. UK Hoops freshman Samantha Mahoney scored a team-high 13 points followed by nine points and nine rebounds from freshman Chante? Bowman.

Auburn leads the overall series 21-9 and has won six straight over the Cats. Auburn also leads the series 4-1 in games played in the SEC Tournament. UK?s last meeting vs. the Tigers in the conference tournament was in 2003 and Auburn won 68-62. UK?s lone win in the SEC Tournament against AU came in 1995 in the opening round, 75-51.

The winner will meet No. 2 seed Tennessee Friday, March 4 in the second round at 3:15 p.m. ET.
