LEXINGTON, Ky. ? University of Kentucky senior Jeff Chakouian will compete unattached in the shot put at the 2005 USA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 26. The meet will be held at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center at Roxbury Community College in Boston, Mass. Chakouian, a five-time All-American and SEC Champion also holds the Kentucky school record in the shot put. He will be competing Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Also competing at the USA Championships is former UK standout Thomas Morgan. Morgan holds school records in the indoor distance medley relay, the outdoor 5,000 meters, the indoor 4×800-meter relay and the outdoor 4xMile relay. Morgan ended his collegiate career a two-time All-American, three-time All-SEC runner and in 2003 was named SEC Male Athlete of the Year. Morgan will compete in the 3,000 meter run at 4:05 p.m. on Saturday.

The concluding event of USATF’s Indoor Visa Championship Series, the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships is the world’s oldest indoor track championship, with the first meet being held in 1888 in New York.
