LEXINGTON ? No. 7 Kentucky (8-3) blanked its second Big Ten conference opponent in as many matches Saturday as the Cats cruised to a 7-0 win over No. 41 Purdue (2-4) Saturday at UK?s Boone Indoor Tennis Center.

Kentucky?s Kim Coventry and Joelle Schwenk opened doubles play with an 8-2 win at No. 2 over Purdue?s Stephanie Wooten and Brooke Beier. UK?s Emily Foster and Lara Maurer clinched the Wildcat doubles point with an 8-2 victory at No. 3 over Hali Sufi and Alyssa Rodriguez.

UK added to its cushion at third singles when Coventry blanked Zuccarini, giving the Cats a 2-0 lead. Kentucky stretched its lead to 3-0 when Sarah Foster defeated Wooten in three sets. Schwenk clinched the victory for Kentucky with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Rodriguez at the fourth singles position. Kalsarieva added a three-set win over Sufi at first singles, Maurer defeated Beier in straight sets, and Danielle Petrisko rallied from a one-set deficit for a third-set supertiebreak win over Amy Walgenbach.

Kentucky returns to the courts Sunday against No. 29 Indiana. The match is set for 11:30 a.m. EST at UK?s Boone Indoor Tennis Center. Live scoring updates will be available at www.ukathletics.com.
