Women's Basketball

The Kentucky women?s basketball regular season finale vs. Arkansas on Sunday, Feb. 27 in Memorial Coliseum will be televised locally by WKYT-TV. The game will be available on the following channels: UPN, which is Insight Cable Channel 5 in Lexington; Adelphia Cable Channel 99 in Central Kentucky; and WKYT?s digital channel 27.2. Game time is changed to 1 p.m. EST. It was previously slated for a 2 p.m. EST start. This is the second televised game by WKYT-TV/UPN this season after debuting the women?s team vs. Florida on Feb. 10.

?We are excited that Host Communications and Gray Television have chosen to televise our final regular season game against Arkansas,? UK Coach Mickie DeMoss said. ?They did a great job vs. Florida and we look forward to more and more of our games being televised in the future.?

Host Communications Inc. along with Gray Television Inc. begin a 10-year agreement with UK athletics next season that will include televising a number women?s basketball games.

Gray Television’s Regional Vice President and WKYT?s President Wayne Martin said. ?Televising this game gives us an opportunity to jump-start our relationship with them. We are proud to showcase the UK women?s basketball team this year and be a part of helping build their program to new heights.?

WKYT-TV sports director Dick Gabriel will call the play-by-play and sports anchor Christi Thomas will serve as the color analyst.

Kentucky will bid farewell to three Wildcat seniors during ?Senior Day? ceremonies as Sara Potts, Danyelle Payne and Keiko Tate will play their final regular season game in Memorial Coliseum vs. Arkansas.
