Kentucky enjoyed a sweep of doubles play and captured all but one singles match on its way to decisive victories over Marshall and Louisville Tuesday at UK?s Boone Indoor Tennis Center. The 14th-ranked Cats dealt No. 60 Marshall a 6-1 defeat before also defeating Louisville by a 6-1 count in the nightcap.

UK?s sixth-ranked doubles tandem of senior Aibika Kalsarieva and sophomore Sarah Foster started things off with an easy 8-1 win against Marshall?s Ashley Kroh, a former NCAA doubles finalist, and Jeanne Schwartz. The Cats clinched the doubles point at No. 1 with an 8-2 win from the 11th-ranked duo of sophomores Kim Coventry and Joelle Schwenk over Joelle Good and Danielle Hock. Sophomores Lara Maurer and Christine Simpson completed the doubles sweep at the No. 3 position.

The Cats wasted little time in clinching the match. Kalsarieva, Foster and Schwenk scored straight-set victories at the one, two and three singles slots to put away the Herd. UK added victories from junior Danielle Petrisko and Maurer to close out the match.

Kentucky dispatched Louisville in quick fashion, as well. After once again sweeping the three doubles matches, UK clinched the Cardinal defeat with victories at one, three and two from Foster, Schwenk and Coventry. Simpson added a win at No. 4 over Louisville?s Robyn White, while Maurer chipped in the final Wildcat win at No. 5 over Ariana Marshall.

Kentucky (2-0) remains unbeaten in six matches against Marshall and 12 matches against Louisville. The Cats return to the court Friday at No. 16 Texas A&M.
