Three UK players scored in double figures, led by senior guard/forward Sara Potts, who scored 19 points, followed by freshman guard Samantha Mahoney?s 16 and sophomore point guard Angela Phillips? 10.

?This will be a good test for us as I know Marshall is attempting to break an attendance record and it will be an exciting atmosphere,? UK Coach Mickie DeMoss said. ?We have to play focused and limit our turnovers. We played good defense against Charleston Southern and I look for that same defensive intensity vs. Marshall.?

Potts is leading the Wildcats in scoring, averaging 16.3 points per game. She is followed by junior guard/forward Jennifer Humphrey, who is averaging 9.4 points per game and leading the team with 9.1 rebounds per game.

The Cats have won the rebound battle in five-of-eight games this season. On the offensive end, Kentucky has shot over 40 percent from the floor in seven-of-eight games.

Kentucky has dominated the all-time series with Marshall, 12-2, including a 4-2 advantage when playing the Thundering Herd in Huntington. The two teams last met on Jan. 2, 2003, a 75-42 UK win in Rupp Arena.

Marshall (3-2) has not played a game in 10 days and is highlighted by junior Sikeetha Shepard-Hall?s team-high 12.6 points per game. Sophomore Modupe Ishola is coming off the best game of her career, with personal bests of 19 points and 14 rebounds vs. Morehead State. She is this week?s MAC East Division Player of the Week. UK is 31-6 all-time vs. MAC teams.
