LEXINGTON ? Kentucky senior Jamal Shteiwi has been invited to participate in the 2005 Adidas Major League Soccer Combine, which will be held from Jan. 8-11 at The Home Depot Center at Carson, Calif.

Shteiwi led Kentucky to an 11-5-3 record this season and the Wildcats fourth Mid-America Conference championship in five years.

He had 11 goals and eight assists in 19 games en route to leading the league in every statistical category. For his efforts, Shteiwi was named MAC Player of the Year for the second straight season.

The combine, which will include 66 of the nation?s top players, leads directly into the 2005 MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 14. Executives and scouts from each of the league?s 12 teams will be on hand to evaluate the talent. Last season, 42 of the 60 draft picks came out of the combine.
