LEXINGTON ? Kentucky soccer seniors Jamal Shteiwi and Olli Lehtimaki have been named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team, it was announced by the league Wednesday.

Each earned the honor for the second consecutive season, something only one other conference player accomplished this year.

Shteiwi, the 2004 MAC Player of the Year, holds a 3.438 grade-point average in Finance and was also a CoSIDA Academic All-Region award winner. On the field, Shteiwi scored 11 goals and posted eight assists this season while captaining Kentucky to the regular-season MAC championship.

Lehtimaki owns a 3.880 grade-point average in Finance. He played in 15 games for the Wildcats this year with 10 starts and recorded one assist from his defensive midfielder position.

Kentucky finished the year 11-5-3 and recorded at least 10 wins for the eighth straight season. The Wildcats won their fourth conference championship in the past five years and were ranked as high as 19th during the year.
