Kentucky volleyball players Sarah Spinner and Danielle Wallace were recently recognized as CoSIDA Academic All-District IV selections. Spinner, a senior outside hitter from Melbourne, Fla., earned second-team recognition. Wallace, a junior outside from Port Charlotte, Fla., was named to the third team.
Spinner, who leads the team in kills per game, holds a 3.25 grade point average and is will complete her bachelor?s degree in secondary education in December 2004. She plans to pursue her Master?s degree in education at Kentucky as well. Spinner has twice been named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Wallace holds a 3.59 GPA as a pre-pharmacy major at Kentucky. She is second on the team in hitting percentage with a .262 efficiency mark, while averaging 3.74 kills per game and 0.74 blocks per game this season. Wallace was named to the 2003 SEC Academic Honor Roll and the SEC Good Works Team. She is actively involved in the Student-Athletic Advisory Council at UK as well.
