LEXINGTON, Ky. ? University of Kentucky?s Allison Grace individually qualified for the NCAA Division I Women?s Cross Country Championships, as announced today by the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee. Grace earned All-Region honors by finishing tenth at the Southeast Regional competition in Greenville, N.C. on Saturday.
?We are really excited for her, she has run extremely well all year,? said UK head coach Don Weber. ?We feel confident in how consistent she has been running going into Nationals.?
Thirty-eight individuals, the first four from each region whose teams did not advance to the championships race, and two additional qualifiers, were selected to participate in each championship.
Indiana State University will host the 2004 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships, November 22, at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course located at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center, Terre Haute, Indiana. The women’s race will begin at 11 a.m. Eastern time followed by the men’s race at 12:15 p.m.
