LEXINGTON ? Kentucky junior Brandon Stewart was named to the Soccer America National Team of the Week, it was announced Wednesday.

It is the second Team of the Week honor Stewart has received this week as he was named to the College Soccer News team on Monday. He was also named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

Last week, Stewart led Kentucky to a 2-0 record with wins over Cincinnati and No. 17 UAB.

Against the Bearcats, he scored the game-winning goal in the first half and anchored the back row in the Wildcats sixth shutout of the year. The win ended Cincinnati?s six-game unbeaten streak.

Three days later, Stewart broke a 1-1 tie in the 78th minute against the Blazers with a header off a Jamal Shteiwi corner kick. The win snapped UAB?s seven-game home win streak.

This year, Stewart has three goals and each one was a game-winner.

Stewart and Kentucky return to action Sunday when they compete in the MAC Tournament. Winners of the regular-season championship, the Wildcats earned the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye. They face the Marshall-Western Michigan winner at Kalamazoo, Mich.
