Wildcat Headlines

The Wildcats travel to Auburn, Ala., for the first time in 10 years to face the Auburn Tigers. The teams last met in Lexington in 1995 and haven?t met in Auburn since 1994. The Tigers own a 13-game winning streak vs. the Wildcats as UK?s last win vs. Auburn was Oct. 1, 1966 (17-7).

The Cats hit the road after three straight home games, including a heartbreaking defeat to South Carolina on Homecoming Saturday, 12-7. Auburn remains undefeated at 7-0 after a 38-20 win over Arkansas in Auburn.

Auburn marks the second ranked opponent for Kentucky this season.

Quarterback Shane Boyd ranks seventh in the SEC in total offense, averaging 173.5 yards per game. He turned in his best game of the season on Sept. 18 when he rushed for a career-high 130 yards and passed for 205 yards vs. Indiana and accounted for four touchdowns, two each by rushing and passing. Boyd also became the first player in UK history to rush for more than 100 yards and pass for more than 200 yards in a game.

Wide receiver Glenn Holt has caught 29 passes and ranks second in the SEC statistics in receptions per game with 4.83. In UK?s last game vs. South Carolina, Holt caught a career-best 10 passes for 59 yards. He was the first Wildcat receiver since Derek Abney vs. Arkansas in 2003 to record 10 pass receptions in a game.

The Cats rank first in the SEC in red zone defense. In six games, UK has allowed its opponent to convert only 18 of 28 attempts for 64.3 percent.

Following the Auburn game, UK will meet Mississippi State in Starkville on Oct. 30.
