University of Kentucky Men?s golf team is third after a rainy day of competition at the Gary Koch/Cleveland Golf Invitational in Tampa, Fla. The second round of competition was delayed throughout the afternoon and those who did not complete second round play will finish early tomorrow morning, with the second round still scheduled to start at 9 a.m. ET. Mark Blakefield is atop the leader board, tied for second for the Cats at two-under par (70) for the first round.

Andrew Stephens is the lone sophomore competing for the Kentucky five firing a 76, four-over par for the day. All-American seniors Matt Wells and John Holmes finished two-over and five-over par, respectively for the first round. Wells is second for UK tied for 13th and Brandon Waldrop recorded a seven-over par first round to complete the Kentucky five. Sophomore Cale Barr is competing as an individual and sits at four-over, tied for 26th.

The Cats are third in the tournament field behind UCF and South Carolina. The Gary Koch co-host, Florida Gators are the only other top-five ranked competition and sit 13th out of 15 teams at the conclusion of round one play. UCF?s Stephan Wistorf is two shots ahead of Blakefield and Darren Bayne, who are tied for second, at four-under par on the individual leader board.

The second round of play is still scheduled for 9 a.m. ET with the third round of tournament play beginning at 8 a.m. ET Tuesday. The tournament will conclude with an awards ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
