Kentucky senior All-American Aibika Kalsarieva dropped her opening singles match but advanced with doubles partner Sarah Foster Thursday at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Kalsarieva, the ITA?s ninth-ranked singles player, suffered a 6-2, 6-1 defeat to No. 59 Story Tweedie-Yates of TCU and now will advance to the consolation round. Later in the day, Kalsarieva and Foster were victorious in their opening-round doubles match, scoring an 8-6 win over Wake Forest?s Karin Coetzee and Ashlee Davis. The third-ranked pair will meet New Mexico?s 11th-ranked tandem of Iva Gersic and Maja Kovacek on Friday.
