Wildcat cross country teams travel to the 31st Stanford Cross Country Invitational this weekend in Palo Alto, California. The meet will be held Saturday at the Stanford University Golf Course where the women?s 4k race begins at 4:35 PT. The men?s 4k race gets underway at 4:55 p.m.
Stanford is one of the top cross country meets in the Western United States. Nearly 4,000 runners will be competing in 22 races ranging from high school competitors to the nations top collegiate runners. Beginning at 4:10 p.m. 800 student-athletes will be representing 50 college teams. Every NCAA division will be represented as well as a selection of NAIA and junior college teams.
Ranked first in the nation, Stanford comes off a NCAA Cross Country Championship and returns all seven women from the 2003 team, including 5 All-Americans. The Cardinal men are also coming off a National Championship year and are ranked second in the nation this season.
