Kentucky sophomores Liis Sober and Caroline Winebrenner each claimed their first career singles flight titles Sunday at the St. Mary?s Fall Tennis Classic in Knoxville, Tenn.

Sober, a Tallinn, Estonia native, turned in her third victory in as many days to win the sixth singles flight, defeating N.C. State?s Elin Stahl Johansson by a 6-1, 6-2 count. Winebrenner, a product of Louisville?s St. Francis H.S., followed suit with a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Middle Tennessee State?s Sabrina Rohrmoser in the seventh singles flight.

Five Wildcats earned singles victories Sunday at the Florida Fall Invitational in Gainesville. Leading the way was 32nd-ranked sophomore Sarah Foster, a 6-3, 6-0 winner over Florida State?s 36th-ranked Mihaela Moldvan. Senior Emily Foster and sophomore Lara Maurer each scored singles victories via third-set tiebreaker, and sophomores Kim Coventry and Joelle Schwenk added straight-set wins in what amounted to a Kentucky dual-match victory over Florida State.

?We made a nice recovery today after a tough start on Friday,? UK Coach Mark Guilbeau said. ?We managed several victories today over what is going to be a very good Florida State team, so we?re leaving Gainesville with some good results.?

The Cats return to action on Friday, Oct. 1 in the Kentucky Fall Invitational.
