After a pair of challenging matches last weekend, the road to the post-season becomes no less tedious this weekend, as No. 16 Kentucky (15-7, 6-2) welcomes No. 4 Georgia (15-2, 7-1) to Lexington. The Cats and Dogs are set for battle Friday at 4 p.m. at UK?s Boone Tennis Complex. Live scoring will be available at ukathletics.com.

Georgia represents the second top-five team to visit the Boone Tennis Complex this season after third-ranked Duke came to Lexington in January. The Cats have battled three top-10 teams this season, scoring a win over No. 8 Southern California and dropping a pair of matches to Duke and Florida.

Georgia features senior three-time All-American Agata Cioroch, the ITA?s fifth-ranked student-athlete, and one of the premier freshmen in the country, 12th-ranked Shadisha Robinson. Sophomore Evgenia Subbotina, ranked No. 54 by the ITA, solidifies a potent singles lineup. Cioroch and Robinson comprise the ITA?s fifth-ranked doubles tandem, and Subbotina and sophomore Jitka Schonfeldova come in at No. 43.

Kentucky enters Friday?s contest unbeaten in its last three matches. Junior Aibika Kalsarieva, the ITA?s 23rd-ranked student-athlete, and 96th-ranked freshman Sarah Foster each have won five-consecutive matches and eight of their last nine. The pair forms the nation?s 15th-ranked doubles duo.

UK Coach Mark Guilbeau served as an assistant coach at Georgia for five seasons before coming to Kentucky. The Cats? last victory over the Dogs came in 1996, when UK dealt UGA a 5-4 defeat in Lexington.
