Knoxville, Tenn. ? The Kentucky baseball team will be looking to end a five-game losing streak when it opens a three-game series with the No. 13 Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville, Tenn. The Wildcats lost three in a row to Florida last weekend in Lexington, and had a scheduled game against Eastern Kentucky postponed earlier this week.
The Wildcats currently stand at 14-10 on the season, including a 2-4 mark in SEC play. Tennessee comes into the weekend at an impressive 22-5 and is 3-3 in the SEC. The Vols have won eight of their last 11 games.
Kentucky trails the all-time series with Tennessee by a 139-127 count, dating back to 1909. UK won the series with UT last season in Lexington, taking the first two games by scores of 1-0 and 4-1. The Vols won game three, 9-8.
This weekend?s series starts with a 7 p.m. (ET) game on Friday evening from Lindsey Nelson Park. The two teams will play at the same time on Saturday and the series will wrap up on Sunday with a 2 p.m. start time. All the action can be heard on 96.1 FM in Lexington.
