The University of Kentucky women’s golf team hits the road once again on March 26-28 for the 32nd Annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Ga. The Cats begin competition Friday at 9 a.m. at the par-72, 6,104-yard University of Georgia Golf Course. UK will compete in the three-day event against 17 other teams, eight of which represent the Southeastern Conference and 10 of which are in the top-30 according to Golfweek.
The Cats are coming off an eighth-place tie at the Waterlefe Invitational in Bradenton, Fla. Eva Gessner turned in the best showing of her senior season to lead the squad, shooting a 76 on day three of the competition to complete the three-round tournament in a tie for 12th place.
In last year’s event, Kentucky finished 16th in the 17-team field. Complete Results from all three rounds will be available at www.ukathletics.com.
