The 18th-ranked Kentucky women (13-7, 4-2) return to the Boone Tennis Complex for their first home match in over two weeks when the Cats welcome Auburn (6-8, 1-5). The match is set for 4 p.m. EST.
The Cats played two road matches since their last home match, a 4-3 win over Ohio State on Wednesday, Mar. 10. Kentucky suffered a 4-3 defeat at LSU last Friday before rebounding with a 5-2 win at Arkansas two days later.
One Wildcat moved up in the latest ITA women?s singles rankings, while another made her debut. Junior Aibika Kalsarieva advanced two spots to No. 23, and freshman Sarah Foster entered the rankings at No. 96. Kalsarieva and Foster also entered this week?s doubles rankings, coming in at No. 15 in the country.
Kentucky turned Auburn away by a 6-1 count a season ago in Auburn, Ala.
Friday is “UK Student Day” at the Boone Tennis Complex. The first 100 UK students in attendance will receive free UK Tennis T-shirts. Students also will take advantage of sponsor prize giveaways during the match.
