A heart-breaking loss two days ago in Baton Rouge did little to deter No. 15 Kentucky Sunday, as the Cats scored a decisive 5-2 victory over No. 67 Arkansas at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Kentucky splits its weekend matches and improves to 13-7 and 4-2 in the SEC, while Arkansas slips to 8-7 and 0-6 in the conference.
Kentucky seized control of the match early on, winning each doubles match in taking a lead it would not relinquish. Junior Aibika Kalsarieva and freshmen Joelle Schwenk, Sarah Foster and Christine Simpson each tallied straight-set singles victories to ensure a split of the two-match road trip after Friday?s loss at LSU.
The Cats return to action this Friday, Mar. 26 when Kentucky plays host to Auburn.
