Lexington, (Ky.) ? The Kentucky baseball team is set to travel to Bowling Green on Wed. for a 4 p.m. (ET) showdown with the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky University. The Wildcats (9-4, 0-0 SEC) enter the contest in search of their 10th win of the season. WKU is 6-7 and comes into the contest after having swept Dayton in three games over the weekend.
Kentucky took two of three from Wright State over the weekend, including a 21-4 pounding of the Raiders on Sunday. The Wildcats pounded out 20 hits in that contest and Kalen Gibson (1-0) picked up his first win of the season.
Kentucky holds a 25-19-1 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools. Western took both contests last year, winning 3-2 in Bowling Green and 10-3 in Lexington. WKU has won four in a row overall in the series, which started back in 1926.
