The 16th-ranked University of Kentucky men?s tennis team welcomes Indiana and Murray State Wednesday in its second doubleheader of the season. The Cats play host to the Hoosiers at 1 p.m. EST in a match previously scheduled for 2 p.m. EST. The Cats do battle with the Racers at 7 p.m. EST. Each match will be held at UK?s Boone Tennis Complex.
Kentucky hung a 5-2 defeat on Indiana and a 6-0 shutout loss on Murray State a season ago in Lexington. The Hoosiers feature ITA?s 52nd-ranked student-athlete in junior Jakub Praibis, while Kentucky counters with Jesse Witten at No. 15 and Tigran Martirosyan at No. 74.
UK Coach Dennis Emery is weary of the challenges presented by Indiana and Murray State.
?Indiana is a very solid team that is off to a good start,? Emery said. ?They have played close matches with many talented teams, and we expect another tough match with the Hoosiers tomorrow.
?Murray State, as always, is an OVC title contender this season, and we are expecting their best effort Wednesday.?
Kentucky resumes Southeastern Conference competition next Friday, Mar. 19 against Arkansas.
