ATHENS, Ga. – Sophomore Daniel Farnham and junior Tim Patrick advanced to tonight?s 50-yard freestyle final at the SEC Swimming and Diving Championships with season-high times registered in this morning?s preliminary round.
Farnham, a Mt. Berry, Ga., native, enjoyed a triumphant return to his home state with a Kentucky season-high 50-yard freestyle time of 20.01, good for an NCAA ?B? cut. Patrick also beat the previous season team high with a 20.21, also good for an NCAA ?B? cut. The pair will compete for the SEC title in the event final at 6:30 this evening.
Four Wildcats will participate in tonight?s event consolation finals. Senior Fernando Barros and junior Clay Gasparovich are slated for the 50-yard freestyle consolation event. Barros, freshman Alejandro Bravo and junior Jessica Siegele will participate in their respective 100-yard backstroke consolation finals this evening.
