Lexington, (Ky.) ? The Kentucky baseball team will play host to the Georgetown College Tigers on Wed., Feb. 18, at Cliff Hagan Stadium. The Wildcats have scheduled the game to replace one of the two games that were rained out this past weekend in Rock Hill, S.C. UK was slated to play Winthrop and Maryland as part of the Coca Cola Classic, hosted by Winthrop, but both games were cancelled due to rain.
The Wildcats defeated Kent State, 3-2, in their first game at the Coca Cola Classic. Casey Gilvin?s single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth scored John Shelby from second base to give UK the victory. Georgetown, a member of the NAIA and the Mid-South Conference, has not played yet this season.
Kentucky holds a 59-11 advantage in the all-time series with Georgetown. The two schools have not met since 1997, when Kentucky downed the Tigers, 10-4, in Lexington. First pitch on Wednesday is set for 3 p.m. and admission is free of charge.
