Head Coach Mickie DeMoss

On Mississippi State?

?They are a really tough team. Last time we played them we let Tan White get a career-high on us and we are going to have to contain her. They just beat a really good Florida team on Thursday and they just play so aggressive. Offensively, we must take care of the basketball against them.?

On the loss of Pfeiffer, Humphrey and Tate (the last two games) and its effect on the team?

?Our lack of depth has really had an impact on us. Losing Pfeiffer first, that is 12 to 13 points out of the line-up right there and then we were without Keiko Tate, so that just depleted our substitutions in the post. With Jennifer ?Lanky? Humphrey still out, it just really left us shorthanded. Against Florida and Auburn, which are two really good teams, it showed and we struggled against both of those teams.?

On trying to avoid team fatigue?

?A lot of my concerns are with Potts and Phillips because they?ve just been playing so many minutes back-to-back. We really have to keep an eye on the two of them. I think that I just assumed that they could play forever and I?ve got to keep an eye on their fatigue level during the course of the game and get them a little bit more rest during the first half.?

On motivating the team to get to the SEC tournament?

?We?ve just got to keep playing for things we?ve established here. We?ve established a great fan base and we?ve shown a lot of improvement in a lot of areas. A lot of players have improved and I told them yesterday ?you?ve worked really hard?the community here is excited again about this program and they enjoy watching you play because of your passion and enthusiasm.? We may not have the wins to show for it but we have improved in a lot of areas.?
