COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team is set for its last road match of the season Sunday when the Cats (6-5-3, 4-0-2) meet South Carolina (8-6-2, 1-3-1). Match time is 1 p.m. EDT at Eugene Stone Soccer Stadium in Columbia.
The Cats enter the match with a six-match unbeaten streak, the longest in the 12-year history of Kentucky women’s soccer. UK suffered its last loss on Sept. 21 at Arizona State. Kentucky’s 4-0-2 start in conference play is also the best in the history of the program.
Kentucky Coach Warren Lipka sports a 7-1 career record against his alma mater. Lipka earned All-America honors as a goalkeeper with the Gamecocks during the 1985 season. Last season, USC defeated Kentucky, 1-0, in Lexington for the Gamecocks’ first-ever victory over the Wildcats.
