FT. WAYNE, Ind. – The University of Kentucky men’s soccer team dropped its final preseason match of the season to Michigan State, 2-0, at the IPFW Soccer Showcase in Ft. Wayne, Ind. Kentucky was unable to score a goal for the first time in its last 17 matches.

On Friday, UK beat No. 7 Indiana, 2-1, in its first game of the Soccer Showcase. The Cats were not as successful against a solid Michigan State team that returned eight starters from last year’s team.

10th-year head coach Ian Collins used the exhibition match to give all 18 traveling Wildcats an opportunity to play in a game situation before Kentucky opens its regular season against Louisville, Sept. 2 at the UK Soccer Complex.
