Wildcats Return to Practice Monday: After having the day off on Sunday, the Kentucky football team will return to the practice field Monday afternoon from 4:45 to 6 p.m.
On Saturday night, the Wildcats rehearsed their pregame routine, then held a one-hour, 15-minute scripted scrimmage in Commonwealth Stadium.
“We covered a lot of situations in offense, defense, and kicking game,” Coach Rich Brooks said. “I saw some good things and we had no injuries.”
Brooks also reported that wide receiver Derek Abney, who has missed two weeks with a hamstring strain, is expected to return to practice on Monday.
Brooks Visits Louisville Twice on Monday: Coach Rich Brooks will make two appearances in Louisville on Monday.
Brooks will be the featured speaker at the Jefferson County UK Alumni Luncheon at the Kentucky Convention Center. The doors open at 11 a.m., with the luncheon starting at 11:15 a.m. and the program at noon.
At 7 p.m., Brooks will have his initial call-in show from Buffalo Wild Wings, located at Westport Road at Highway 22. The show will be simulcast on WAVE TV and the UK Radio Network.
Record Number of Student Season Tickets Sold: University of Kentucky students have purchased 1,850 season tickets so far, breaking the school record for student season ticket sales.
This is the fourth year that UK students have had the opportunity to purchase season tickets. The previous record was 1,331 student season tickets for the 2000 season.
