The Southeastern Conference has named 72 student-athletes to its 2002-03 Non-Championship Sponsored Academic Honor Roll, and four members of the UK rifle team made the list. Senior Crystal Hamilton and juniors Melody Cook, Lindsey Meagher and Bradley Wheeldon earned the honors for the Rifle Cats. The conference made its selections based on grades from the 2001-02 academic year.

The SEC handed out the honors to deserving student-athletes in five sports that the conference neither sponsors nor hosts a championship. The UK rifle program competes in the Great American Rifle Conference.

The SEC honors are the second academic awards for all four of UK’s honorees. Cook, Hamilton, Meagher and Wheeldon all were named to the National Rifle Association’s All-Academic Team in March.
