The 15th-ranked University of Kentucky women’s tennis team opens a weekend home stand on Friday, March 28 when they face No. 52 Arkansas at UK’s Boone Tennis Center. The match begins at 4 p.m. ET.

The Cats (14-6, 4-2 SEC) return to play after a 12-day layoff. UK last played on Sunday, March 16 when they defeated South Carolina, 4-3. Kentucky is led by senior Sarah Witten who is ranked 49th in singles play and eighth in doubles with current partner and fellow senior Amy Trefethen. The duo has an overall record of 10-2 since Feb. 1. They are 4-2 in SEC play. Witten is 11-8 overall in dual-match play and 3-3 in SEC competition. All of her matches have been at the top position. Trefethen has held down the fifth singles spot posting an 11-3 overall record. She is 4-2 in conference play.

Arkansas (8-8, 0-6 SEC) comes to Lexington off a 5-2 defeat to Cal-Poly on March 22. The Ladybacks’ No. 3 doubles tandem of Monika Dybicz and Megan Ferreira is 11-3 overall and 2-2 in Southeastern Conference play. Sophomore Simona Arghire and junior Anna Dybicz lead the Ladybacks in singles play with duplicate 8-7 records.

The Cats wrap up the weekend on Sunday, March 30 when they host 47th-ranked LSU at Noon ET.
