FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Nine University of Kentucky track and field athletes claimed All-America honors at the NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend in Fayetteville, Ark. Senior Simidele Adeagbo finished seventh in the triple jump with a career-best leap of 43-08.00 to lead the group.

Men’s milers Hunter Spencer and David Freeman each earned All-America status after finishing fifth and seventh in the race, respectively. Spencer finished the race with a time 4:07.11, while Freeman’s time was 4:07.32.

In Friday’s events, Janet Crawford earned All-America honors with a ninth-place finish in the high jump. James Doaty earned the honor in the men’s 800 meters, while the distance medley relay team of Kris Landers, Paul Ciurlys, Chad Johnson and Thomas Morgan also was named All-America.

Junior Jeff Chakouian finished 13th in the men’s shot put with a throw of 60-11.50.

The Wildcats open the outdoor schedule on Saturday, March 22 at the Hurricane Invitational in Miami, Fla.
