Auburn, Ala. – The University of Kentucky men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams will begin competition in the Southeastern Conference Swimming & Diving Championships at Auburn’s Martin Aquatics Center in Alabama on Wednesday, Feb. 19. Competition will begin at 10 a.m. CT with the men’s one-meter preliminaries.
Results posted in the SEC Championships will determine each participants’ inclusion in the NCAA Championships in March. At the 2002 SEC Championships the UK men finished sixth (282 pts), while the women finished ninth (203 pts). Participants for the Cats include senior All-American diver Clayton Moss and former All-Americans Joey Faltraco, a junior, and Roger Watkins, a senior, for the men, and juniors Amanda Bourgeois and Michelle Brown as well as senior Kelli Frost for the women.
“We’ve been performing really well lately,” Coach Gary Conelly said. “We look to keep competing at a high level and come out of here with a good finish.”
