Milwuakee, Wis. – Kentucky seniors Jill Buckley and Leigh Bradwell won their opening doubles match at the Milwaukee Classic on Wednesday. The duo defeated Shelby Lipson and Ashley Maxwell of Illinois State by a score of 8-3. They will face Butler’s Alaina Griffin and Christina Laun, in the quarterfinals, on Thursday.

In singles action, Buckley defeated Cincinnati’s Khushchehr Italia in straight sets, 6-2; 7-5, to advance to the singles’ semifinals. She will face second-seeded Catherine Lynch, from California, on Thursday. Bradwell was defeated in the consolation bracket, 6-2; 6-3, by Butler’s Tayo Bailey.
