The Cats are now 12-13 in overtime. Today’s overtime game marks UK’s first overtime game since Jan. 31, 1999 when it lost to Arkansas 74-69. Coach Mattox is 4-2 in overtime games.
UK leads the all-time series with Miami 11-2 and is a perfect 7-0 against the RedHawks in Memorial Coliseum.
UK is now a perfect 29-0 when topping the 100-point mark. The last time UK scored 100-plus points was on Nov. 23, 2001 versus Sam Houston State (100-55).
UK hit a season-high 11 three pointers and has at least five threes in five straight games. The 11 hit today were two shy of the school record.
UK shot a season-high 78.6% from beyond the arc. The Wildcats also shot a season-best 57.1% from the field. Their previous high was 49.2% against Pacific on Nov. 29.
For the first time this season, all five Wildcat starters scored in double figures, marking the second game this season in which five players have scored in double digits.
Senior Rita Adams had a complete game scoring a game-high and career-best 29 points on 11 of 13 shooting, including 2-2 from three-point land. She dished out eight assists, had three steals and one block.
It was her second 29-point performance this season after scoring 29 against Western Kentucky on Dec. 7.
With her three steals against the RedHawks, Adams has 217 career steals to rank eighth all-time at UK.
With eight assists, she ties Tiffany Wait at No. 8 on the all-time career assists list with 339.
Her one block against Miami moves her into the top 10 on the career block shots list tying Pattresa Leonard with 65.
Freshman Jennifer Humphrey charted her first career double-double with 15 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. I was her third straight game scoring double digits.
Freshman Jenny Pfeiffer charted 14 points in the winning effort for her fifth straight double-figure game.
Sophomore Sara Potts had 21 points equaling her career high.
Junior SeSe Helm rounded out the scoring with 12 points, giving her 868 career points.
UK swatted a season-high eight blocks. Helm tied her career high with three blocks.
